Argentine Levee Pump Station Repair & Rebuild

Serving as the prime contractor for this design-build project on the Kansas River, 51社区repaired three pump stations originally built in the early 1900s. We fully replaced Strong Avenue Pump Station and Argentine Main Pump Station and made structural modifications to the Turner Pump Station, raising it 74 inches while maintaining pumping operations.

Our work included construction of temporary flood protection, demolition of existing structures, tie-in to existing infrastructure, and strengthening and raising the discharge chamber.

The new Argentine Main Pump Station has four 450-horsepower (hp) axial-flow pumps with a total pumping capacity of 156,000 gallons per minute (GPM), while the Strong Avenue Pump Station contains three 380-hp axial-flow pumps with a total pumping capacity of 77,000 GPM.
